Me and a freind are in the middle of working on a rich text feild editor, instead of the clicky button ones......
to explain what i mean............ What it does is, its works like microsoft word, where you type text in, then you click bold or italic, or a hyperlink ect....and it formatts it into the box..... and thus... making it easier then using bb code.... things i need to workout before i start converting it into vbulletin is: what browsers can use it...... eg minimum browser weather people would prefer it to use html, or vb Code and how many people would be interested a demo of the rich text feild can be found Here please tell me if it works on your browser, prefereably please dont repeat a browser...... i know it currently works on IE 5.5 so please dont post that...... anyquestions? ideas? please post them here... or e-mail me at angelus@lazyen.com |
You can pretty safely assume that it will only work in IE5+. I don't know how you specifically are accomplishing it but most things like that won't work in Netscape.
Enabling HTML is a security risk and I would bet that 95% of webmasters don't do it in this type of setting. |
ok, well that means ill have to work on a detect script so that it detects what browser someone is using if they are using IE 5+ then they use the rich one, anything other then that, uses the old one

We actually just had a discussion about this, now that I think about it. Check this thread and you can also check this out at MSDN.
