Upgrading
 
If I upgrade from 3.6.8 to 3.8.3, will it ruin all my custom styles? Or are the changes not that big style wise to require a re-installation and revamping of the forum style? thanks

there will be big changes in navbar if you used custom one, and also some added code in footer template. also if you use category spacing. you can compare old and new template.there will be notice on this in the admincp home.

There is also a big difference in the member.php pages (the profile pages). It's hard to say how much your style will be effected. Some styles are mostly color changes and I'd guess they won't be effected much by the change. But, some styles have a lot of template changes and those will definitely be effected by the upgrade changes.
