This is something I've had installed for years, I'm now questioning the value.

With today's broadboard are the bandwidth savings better than the additional server processing costs of zipping up each pageview?

Do you think it is still worth it?

Yes it is still usefull. But you should only compress the output in 1 location, and most often your webserver already is set to compress the output. Doing the same again in vB or PHP is useless and only leads to extra processing.
