Max character per forum
 

I was so sure I once used a hack for this but it seems not.
Does anyone know a good method to limit max characters per post for specific forums?

I want to limit a forum with comments in it to 500 characters and I can't see to figure out a way to do this.

Have you ever considered doing a character(s) left mod?
One that would show ex: 500 Characters and go down as the user typed out his or her message?

Nope - don't think I've heard the idea thrown around. It certainly sounds relevant to the modification though.

I found a java hack for the user profiles that could work, but I'm having the damnedest time locating the input code for the quick-reply editor. Would you know where it's buried?
