Exclude latest subforum post from forum homepage (last post in forum)
 

Hi All,

Here's the lowdown.

On my forum a have lots of mobile phone manufacturers listed in forums.

Within each forum i have a subforum which brings in news via RSS.

I have excluded these posts from "new posts" by following a tut I have found here, I'd now like to know to exclude them from being shown as the "last post" in that forum on the frontpage.

Any ideas?

Please can somebody help me with this. Even if its just a "that's not possible" then I'll go and find a way.

It frustrates me as I'm always making my titles very detailed and providing plenty of info and nobody ever helps me, then i see threads like "help please" and everyone jumps on board.

It's not that it's not possible - almost anything is possible if you code it. However, this is not easily achievable. You would have to write at least one plugin (probably several) to not add the post to the forumcache (if it's from particular forums) which is where the Last Post info is grabbed from.

I'd like to know how to do this, any feedback? Figured I'd bump a well written old thread, then attempt to write my own.
