Changing from "save all scores" to "save best score"
Can't seem to do what I'm asking in the title of this thread. I started out by saving all scores, but now we have thousands of scores for some games, and I'd like to only keep the user's best score. Basically, I want to wipe everyone's scores except for their best ones in each game, so the top 10 high scores in each game will always be 10 different users. (if at least 10 users have saved scores in that game)
But when I make this change in the settings, and rerun all score tools, it doesn't really change anything, and there are still thousands of scores in some of the games. I imagine that going forward it wouldn't record any new scores for a user if it isn't their best score, but it didn't do anything for all the existing scores. Anyone deal with this before? Thx in advance for any help or suggestions. |
I did this few years ago.
The thing is, you have to delete all the scores (other than the best ones) manually... :( Yes it sucks. What I did was that I simply just let the top 10 scores stay for every game and then changed to "only save user's best score". |
Yes, an automatich cleaning of scores while changing this setting is on the "todo"-list for ibProArcade ;)
I personally prefer using "save all scores" and use the "automatic score pruning" |
