HTML code for Administrators

Hi,

I'm actually attempting to migrate a forum using SMF to vBulletin.

In the SMF forum, there is a BBcode [html] wich convert the text between balises into html code. For security, this balise is usable only by moderators. So if a simple member use this balise, his post show the html code, but if a moderator edit this post, the html code will be valid and interpreted by the navigator.

In vBulletin, the html BBcode juste show the code with syntactic coloration. There is an option, in the admin panel, which permit to a group to use html directly, without BBcode. It's a good option, but I tried to edit a simple user post in order to convert the html text to real html code, without success.

Have you an idea?

No idea?

For example, in the old forum, there was a HTML post written by a moderator.

In the new forum, this member isn't moderator anymore and can't use HTML.

So, there is a post with no-interpreted HTML code and I don't know how to convert it. I tried to edit this post (with administrator rigths and HTML option enabled), but there is no change.

I think maybe you'd have to use a hook to do this. I tried doing a similar thing using php, but then realised it wasn't worth the security risks.

But, if only administrators can use HMTL code, I think there is no risks.

More over, there is an option which permit to a user group to use HTML.

The probleme is that an administrator can't edit a post written by an other user to insert HTML code.

EDIT : I realize that the HTML code is parsed during the page g?n?ration (unlike the old SMF forum which parses the code when the user send the post). So I can't parse the html code when an administrator edits the post :s
