Local Advertising

I have a few questions because I'm kinda new to this:

If I get local advertising for my site how do I ensure that I get credit for the clicks from my site?

Where and how can I put them on vBulletin? Plugin? Hack? Mod?

How much do you/should I charge for the ads, if anything??

I appreciate all feedback!

I posted this over at vbulletin that com as well:

vB Ad Management and/or Forum Management I believe are the cream of the crop.

Then what? Hit the pavement and get local ads? Just trying to really learn this stuff.

Is $50 a month too high? Does the add-on calculate the price kind of like Adsense does? Again, I'm a newbie with this aspect of the web.

Thanks!

I don't need vB Ad Management and Forum Management if I'm to acquire local advertising. At least I'm 99.99% sure I don't.

Can someone point me in the right direction for banner management of my own ads?

Thanks!

Hi Bob,

First thing with advertising is to try every available FREE option first before going onto paid services.

Adsense is a Must, Even if its on your footer, You will generate $$ over the course of a year, trust me.

Next step for your own banners etc, would be a company like tradedoubler http://www.tradedoubler.com/

or http://www.buy.at/ Thats the british url, for US click the flag on the top right!

There you can get banners and creative content which will allow you to advertise on your site, each sale or enquiry will result is cash coming your way

Thers loads out there buddy, try them all first, all the free ones and as you progress and you feel paying is the way forward, so be it

But only after you've exhausted all your other free options

Good Luck

;)

Thank you very much for your response. The URL's you provided are they for local advertising? For example a deli in my town.

I have worked with LinkShare before and how do you feel about OpenX?
