Problem when creating a test forum
 

I want to create a test forum for testing of mods and developing a new template, optimizing the site, things like that.

I understand per the Vb license this is allowed, as long as it's not accessible / is password protected.


The way I did this is that I created a copy of my current database, adjusted the config file as needed, then uploaded the 3.8.3 files, ran the upgrade scripts, that all works fine.

I can access the admin cp without a problem.

But I cannot get the forum to load.

Livesite works fine, but the testsite is dead.


Once I get it working i'll add the .htaccess and get cracking on a new template

any ideas and what I need to check for?

a little more info:

nothing at all is displayed on the forumhome, it's just a total blank screen.

another tidbit that might be helpful:

I'm using firefox 3.0.10, and when I right-click on that page and go to view page source, nothing is there. Then in page info and render mode, it says "Quirks mode"
