Moderated posts note?
 

Is there an addon that will place a placeholder in the space where a moderated post is, basically showing everyone that a post is in moderation? From time to time, our moderators take a post out of public view to talk about the next action to take, and people think the post has been completely deleted.

I've never seen something like that. Have you looked into writing your own plugin to do it?

I didn't want to until I was sure it hadn't been done. It already kind of exists with the soft delete function. If you soft-delete a post, certain groups can see a message left behind. That's what I want with moderated posts.
