question regarding usergroups

Is there a current mod, to where you can create multiple usergroups so when a user signs up, they can select a usergroup that best fits them?

I want to create a few usergroups, but want the user to select the one to belong to when they first sign up.

You may want to try a search on "usergroup*" in "all mods" "titles only" and see if something shows up. I seem to recall there may be a mod, but I'm not sure, so try a search. The one I'm thinking of may just add you to a secondary usergroup based on something you select when registering.

This should work perfectly. Thanks!

Ok the Mod eaglenick suggested would be good, but is there another mod that will allow you to create several user titles, so a user can pick the user title that best describes their job function? This can be done in their usercp?

You can always make it so user titles can be made by a user to do this do the following..

Admin CP> UserGroup > UserGroup Manger > Edit UserGroup > Can Use Custom Title > Yes > Save

:)

That I already know how to do, but that is not exactly what I want though. What I would like is for them to choose a user title that I have set up. The mod that eaglenick suggested would work, but I have a few mods that I would need to update if I used the one he suggested, but if there was a way to create user titles, and the user selects the one that bests matches them in usercp then that would work.

You could create a multiple-selection profile field and based on which they select, they get a certain image. Isnt' that basically what you want? It has nothing to do with usergroups though - well, nothing to do with vbulletin usergroups, I mean.

Is there a way to do it to where only their user title gets change, but nothing else?

I just want them to be able to select a user title that best matches their job title via usercp. This way they can change it if they ever change professions.

You could put it where the user title is supposed to go. I don't know how to actually replace the user title with it without doing some plugins or template modifications.
