How to keep avatars sync with 2 webserver

Hi,
i have a problem with profile pictures on my server-cluster.

There are 2 method of storing avatars, the first is storing them in the file-system:
No success because some avatars saved on web1, some avatars are saved on web2. Is there a way to keep them sync? How to keep the update time as short as possible? (cronjobs -> 1 minute update time is not a real option)

Storing them in the database failed too, after moving them there are no avatars displayed. Even after reuploading them in the USERCP, no success. But i dont know why and i have no idea how to catch this error.

Any suggestions?
