how did they do this in the navbar then link it to a new page?

here's the link to what i'd like to implement:
http://www.thevbgeek.com/index.php

what i want to do:
  • add similar "Navigation: Purchase Download Wiki" on the navbar that is colored to make it stand out -----I will also include a link in the custom drop down menu, but i also want to add it to the navbar.
  • when clicking on "purchase licenses/renewals" in the drop down navbar, i'd like to put something similar as a drop down menu
  • once you click "purchase licenses/renewals", how do you create a landing page like they did and include an "add to cart" at the bottom of the page?

basically the point of wanting to do this is that i will have a "vip member" service as a subscription. as i currently understand vbulletin, there is no way of giving an option when registering like invision board has at the time of registration. (unless there is, please let me know!). so the only way i know how to get this to work is for the members to either
  1. register then choose to become a "vip member" or not
  2. they can click on the link on the navbar and directly become a "vip member"

i know it's a lot to ask, but i'd appreciate anyone's help in the bulleting list above and the scenario below it.

thanks.

Do a search on "navbar*" in "articles" "titles only" and you'll find a couple of articles on adding links to the navbar and then adding a dropdown.

Here is an article on adding pages - [How-To] vBulletin API Basics: Creating Custom Pages & Misc.

Those should get you started.

wow adding the custom pages looks a bit intimidating and just may be out of my league...i might give it a try though.

Lynne,
the instructions aren't very clear or maybe it's because i'm not that familiar with coding, but after creating a new php and html page (both in dreamweaver), what is the next step? a step by step guide is needed for me as opposed to just a generic instruction guide,

hope you can help in this regard.
thanks.

not sure if it's too good to be true, but i think i just figured it out. i have to go into style manager-->then add a new template as opposed to creating one via dreamweaver. MUCH easier than i originally thought.

could anyone just confirm that the "VIP INFO" custom page on my forum was indeed correctly set up? i'd really appreciate the confirmation from anyone.

thanks

It sounds like you got it correct. I don't see a link to VIP Info on your site. Perhaps I need to be logged in? Do you have a test account I can try this with?

I love the dropdown menus on your site! You did a very nice job on them.

love the drop downs too but there should be a space between the icon and the text in the "menu"
