chagned domain, site nto working

Hi

I changed the domain name for my forum as currently my domain is mydomain.com/forums but tried to change it to mydomain.com

I have updated this in AdminCP

I have hosting with diffrent files in differnt locations etc and when I change my domain to the forum folder it will not work fully and will only work if I have my domain name pointing to mydomain.com/forums

Hope this makes sense

When I change the folder for my domain name is pointing to it brings up the forum but users can not click on any of the links on vbulletin and keeps sending them to the forum home

any ideas?

The first thing you need to do is edit the option on the AdminCP to the new location of your forum. If you want it in your root, enter www.yoursite.com.

Then you must move all of the files from the /forums directory to the root directory (usually public_html).

If you post a link to your site I should be able to tell what you have done and what you still need to do.

hi

I had updated this in the AdminCP

I do not need to move the files from the /forums directory as I am moving the domain name to the /forums directory (I have VPS hosting and using the public_html directly for another domain

it looks to me that when I have changed this in AdminCP it is not changing corretly as the site still works find under www.mydomain.com/forums even tho i set it in AdminCP to www.mydomain.com

and when I update the domain it just will not work

I don't understand how you are moving it from the /forums directory to the /forums directory.

Posting a link certainly would help because I'm not following your explanations.

ok go to www.planetfriendz.com

It will show the forum, when you click on any links at all it will just re-load the forumhome

What directory are your files currently in? Can you access your AdminCP?

chatzworld 05-16-2009 08:48 PM

i cant access any of my files at all

on my hosting side, my files are in public_html/forums

Have you done anything to your .htaccess? Made any changes to your domain through your hosting CP?

I'd recommend contacting your host because this is confusing and they're the ones who can help the fastest.
