Is there a way to kick off a web page from a template?

You might not want to ask why, but I have a need to kick off a web page every time a user posts in a particular thread.

Right now i can add a link to the page in each post via href= in the postbit template.

What I really would like to do is just call the web page automatically.

Possible?
