How to remove brackets from thread prefix?

Hey guys

I'm just wondering what do I need to edit to remove the brackets placed around thread prefixes ?

I'm using vbulletin v3.8.2

Thanks so much

You control that yourself in your Thread Prefix Manager. If you don't put brackets around the prefix there, then they don't show like that in the forum.

yes, however if you want brackets to show both on the board index and in forum display it doubles up the brackets on the forum index.

I just want 1 set of brackets around my prefix in both board index and forumdisplay...

ie . [news]

its currently displaying like [[news]]

Edit : even if i dont put brackets in my prefix one still shows up on the board index

prefix :

test
test

shows up on board index :

[test]

My forum doesn't do that. Try disabling your modifications/plugins and see if you still have this problem.
Note: To temporarily disable the plugin system, edit config.php and add this line right under <?php

PHP Code:

define('DISABLE_HOOKS'true);

Yep, problem still exists....

Edit : ok it seems to be my style. I don't have the problem with the default skin

How about this:
Create a new style with no parent:
  • Styles & Templates > Style Manager > Add New Style
  • Parent Style: No Parent Style
  • Title: Default vBulletin
  • Allow User Selection: Yes
  • Save
Then browse the site using that totally default vbulletin style - do you still have the same problem?

yeah i have no problem with the default style.

Damn, this is going to make it hard to fix then :(

I am using the style "Aria" from vbstyles.com

It's probably just a template thing then. Just check out the template and see what it says - To find the template to modify, do this - vboptions > General Settings > Add Template Name in HTML Comments > set to Yes . Then go back to your page and view the source code and you will see the name of the template called around your part of the code. Sometimes the template is the one mentioned at the very top of the page source.

Thanks for all your help.

I have taken the matter up with the skin creator as its unfair to ask you for help.

:)
