link checker?

I have searched FAR and wide and cannot seem to find a link checker bot that WORKS. I use vb 3.8.2 and I have tried the one for my version and it ended up trashing most of my forum. It also had DB issues. I also tried the latest one for 3.7 it kinda worked but it didnt let anyone know. Was wondering other peoples opinions on if there are any working ones and if there was any I missed.
