Making borders look more 3D?

Hi everyone. :)

This has probably got to be something really simple, because it's always the simple things I have trouble doing!

This chap here - http://forum.zaphyous.com/ - has some paler lines beneath the horizontal darker lines of his cell borders, making the "Forum", "Topics", "Replies" and "Last Post Info" colums look a bit more three dimensional.

I'd love to know how to do this please. :p

Thanks!

it's just a background image (1pixel) with highlight at the top

Thanks! Hmm. Okay, how do you set that for the table itself? Is it literally one enormous background image set to the dimensions of the table? I can do that but it seems a bit impractical to me... unless there's something that I haven't found yet that allows you to set a background literally for the table.

YOu can set the background image repeat in main css
STyle manager> your style name> main css> Table Header > Standard CSS Attributes > Background

example:
Quote:

#5C7099 url(images/gradients/gradient_thead.gif) repeat-x top left
change the color and the path according to your image.

but first you must have the image to repeat like in the forum you mention above.
http://forum.zaphyous.com/ just right click in the browser to view background image. You will see this image

What do you mean by highlight at the top, Princeton?

Thank you napy8gen. I got it working perfectly with your instruction and now my grids look much better. As I say to my members when they do something great - have a carrot! :D
