vb.org Archive - Adding left/right columns below navbar?

I had this configured on 3.7.3, upgraded to 3.8.2, lost my template modifications and can't figure out how to set it back up. I'm trying to add columns to the left and right side of my forum below the navbar. This is how it looks now:

Nothing fancy, just a simple table (1 row, 1 column) on each side. Can anyone help me? I'm sure it's simple but I can't figure it out.
