I'm not sure if there is an existing product that does this for vB3.8 (or indeed any version of vB, I think there's one for vB2) but I was interested in whether there was.

Basically a system which shows who quoted you (with direct link to the post with the quote) and how long ago, perhaps the last five times you were quoted down on each forum page. Perhaps as a left hand / right hand column. Ideally it would update periodically (say every 40 seconds) rather than every page refresh.

If something doesn't exist that does this, where would I start if I wanted to do this myself (at the moment I can't figure out which databases to query to even begin returning the results I'd need).
