mySQL query error on new install

Hi this is the error message I am getting on a fresh install.

ibProArcade v2.6.8
VB version 3.8.2
mysql5
PHP5

Code:

mySQL query error: SELECT arcade_access, p_require FROM vbusergroup WHERE usergroupid = 1

mySQL error: Access denied for user: 'miniad@localhost' (Using password: YES)

mySQL error code:

the only difference to all my other forums is I am using a mysql 5 DB for the first time could this be the problem and what would the fix be as my host would like my to convert all my forums to mysql 5.
