For the date stamp on posts:
Basically, it does the xxx ago when the post is within the same day or week, and it also shows the time if it's more than a day ago. If it's a week or more ago (or in the future) it just shows the date and time of the post.

Here is the mod. It looks like it will work, but will this affect anything else on the forum (now or in the future)?

The best way to find out is to install it on your test site and test it yourself. It doesn't look like it makes any queries, so I don't think it will do anything to your database, but who knows if it will affect other variables you are using or anything like that.

Yes it will work fine. I have used it in the past on other boards i'e been apart of.
