thread title displayed elsewhere in same page

I want to pull the thread title off current page into a block within that page.

What code is requireed.

I have tried:

<title>$thread[prefix_plain_html] $thread[title]<if condition="$pagenumber>1"> - <phrase 1="$pagenumber">$vbphrase[page_x]</phrase></if> - $vboptions[bbtitle]</title>

But this isnt working
