Upgraded to 3.8.2 and now my site is REALLLLY slow
 

Hey all, I just recently upgraded to 3.8.2 and now I can't hardly get onto my site.

I fixed everything the the HTML Validator said that I needed to, but I am still getting a slow site, anyone know why?

Try turning off you plugins (just temporarily) to see what happens.

they are disabled, but it's still slow.

try enabling gzip (level 1) in your admincp if it is not already enabled through your host...because right now it doesn't seem to be set.

Here is one issue, but I would say it's your crappy godaddy shared hosting causing you issues and most likely not your site.

I went in and look at it, and it was set to yes (turned on) and set to "1" I changed it and turned it off just to see what would happen and nothing. It is still slow.

So it's back on the settings it was on.

that's not an issue. The plugins have been disabled (read my other posts). To get into it now, you need to go to www.lacledeforum.com/forums/index.php and NOT www.lacledeforum.com

Didn't you have this problem before? I think I remember commenting on a post of yours about the same thing?

yeah I'm contacting GoDaddy right now. I really hate them. This isn't the first time we've had issues with them.

Yeah, you commented on another one. But, the difference with that was, it only affected one person, today it's everyone.

Good luck, their response to me was "we don't see any problems" even though nobody could post images (time outs) and it took so long to load some buttons didn't show up. I just finished moving away from them for hosting and my users are thrilled.

ok, I would say that it is my host. The site is back up (all of a sudden) and running like it should.

well, it was going fast for a couple of mins, and then went back to being slow.

I just got off the phone with Godaddy, they are telling me that the problem is "EVERYBODY'S" ISP. I asked him how it could possible be everyone's ISP when everyone has a different provider. I told him that just didn't even make sense. Sometimes I think they just find the goofiest people they can and put them to work on the phones. I am switching I've already signed up for Liquid Web.
