Domain/server transfer

Okay, i have read the manual and other peoples' problems but I am still lost. If I am being a noob, I really am sorry, as I know how annoying we can be. Here is my situation though:

I have vb installed on a server, with a domain name that I bought. (I don't know if i can post it or not) :/ But..... I signed up for the new service, put in my domain, but now i don't know where to go. I can't access the ftp server because the ftp.xxxxxxxxxx.com sends me to the old sites server.... I am sorry if I am not clear enough, if anyone can help me, please ask any questions you need and I will try to answer to the best of my ability.

You have moved servers ?

Is your domain pointing to your new server yet ?

You can access the new server from ip instead of domain name

Whoever your domain name is registered with there you will add the ip off your new server so it points to your new server instead of to your old server

On your ftp program instead of entering ftp.domain.com just enter the ip address for that part

Do you have cpanel on your new server ?

Then you can see the ip of your new server in the url you use to connect to cpanel

Have you actually moved the account over to the new server yet ?

The domain or the content?

I haven't been able to because i couldn't get access to ftp, and now the host is down so i can't get into the cp >_> Fml.

Oh right , well its late here so I have to go now but when the site is back online you can maybe get something like flashfxp and instead of using the ftp.domain.com in address just enter the full ip of your new site untill you get your domain name redirected to your new server

Then go to your domain host and change the old ip to the new ip
