great prefix based menus - post examples here

We came across this forum
http://www.gameslurp.com/gaming-forums.php -
which has a really cool sub menu "View: All, PS3 forums, 360 forums etc" which appears to filter prefixes to allow users to easliy search content in the same forum.

By default all the threads appear. When you select "WII Forums" it filters just those posts prefixed "WII Forums".

My question - is it possbile to have separate prefix menus for different subforums, for example our site is divided in 100's of locations around the country. Could we have a subforum for each location with a set predefined tags in the "post thread" just for that subforum.

e.g say we have a subforum PARIS in an overall site about France. I post a thread tagged "wine" I just want that tag filterable by a menu on the Paris subforum only and not forum wide.

feedback would be great - any if there are any other examples of prefix based menu systems please post them here.

many thanks

I'm pretty sure you can do that. Do a search on "prefix*" in "all mods" "titles only" and you'll find several prefix mods. I use one on my site where if they click the prefix, they get all the threads in the forum with that prefix.

No, I don't, but there is a mod out there for mass adding prefixes from the little moderator actions dropdown in forumdisplay and you can probably just copy the code he uses to make a menu (it's by Milad, I think).
