Crazy User deleted all his posts
Hi everybody,
I have a problem. A user got angry about the moderation of our Mods. He forced me to delete his account. What I did not realise, he delete all of his posts, about 400, secretly and now many discussions look strange. Therefore I want to undelete the postings he deleted. As the user is deleted already I can not find his postings in vb anymore. Therefor I took a look into the database using phpmyadmin. I found his postings in the post table searching for his username. Now how can I undelete them? I found a table field called 'visibility', where most of his postings have a '2' (deleted?) and some a '1' (these postings are filled with smileys and are still visible, could 1 mean 'changed by user'?). Would it be ok to just change the visibility from 2 to 1? What else could I do? |
1 will set the post to visible. The problem with doing it directly in the database like that is that the count for the visible/non-visible posts in the thread table will be off and that will cause problems with pagination. You, as an admin, should be able to view deleted posts in your User CP > Moderation > Deleted Items > Posts and then make them visible there.

Thanks, I found the undelete in the usercp. But there is one small problem, I only get 4 deleted items listed per page. Is there any chance to get, lets say 50 items listed?

You cannot change that setting afaik.
BTW, How does a user "force" you to delete them ? |

Here in Germany we have to delete a user account if the user wants it. The users account information is considered as personal data and therefore the user has control over it. |
