what causes a zero score?

Occasionally, I encounter a game that posts a score, but that score is 0.

I assume that it is caused by the same issue, and further, I supposing that it is either a game with the wrong GNAME, or a game that should have gamedata but doesn't.

Anyone have the answer to this?
