Banning IP Addresses

Hey Everyone,

I have sort of a problem with banning ip addresses of a user who keeps on registering multiple accounts under different usernames and other profile data. Basically, this is the IP Address (203.189.230.2). I cannot ban this IP through vbulletin options simply because I have around 200 users using that same shared IP address. basically the internet service provider (Sirius Broadband) provides shared IP Addresses to most of their users according to their location. If I ban this IP, many users including one of my staff members cant access the site as they get banned permanently.

Is there a way out of this? This user has created around 50 phony accounts and its getting tiring for me and my crew in the website to ban these accounts one by one. the user basically has no life, thus he has to go through this.

Wow.. 50!!! His site must be your home page :)
  1. I would have the option set to make it verify your email address (if you haven't already)
  2. Set the option to approve new users when registering (vBOptions), meaning you have to approve each member before they count as being registered on the board.
  3. If none of that works... ONLY if none of the options work above, your last option is:
If your using 3.7: https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthread.php?t=165961
If your using 3.8: https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthread.php?t=197484

Again be aware that is cruel punishment :D

this kid has actually done so many things to get into the website. he has used multidns option then annonymouse ip address option. So basically to avoid him, it would be just way too hard. I would personally need to give him a good spanking I guess. thanks for the help
