"SpamBots Are Exploiting Forums Which Use vBulletin Software" claim

There's a claim by Alida Antonia Cornelius at NowMedia that spambots are using vBulletin to spread the Conflicker/Downadup worm by loading it into a rogue user profile, where it allegedly downloads when the profile is clicked.

Just to be clear, I have NO idea whether there is anything in this claim (and am cautiously aware of the proximity to April 1st :-) ).

Still, I thought the endlessly resourceful vBorg community and moderators might be able to shed some light on this?
