Drupal vB and vBulletin - How are User Profiles Handled
Hi,
I am setting up vBulleting for my forums and using drupal for my custom pages that VB will not support. I am wanting to have a single login for both and have found a resource that does this Drupal vB http://drupal.org/project/drupalvb. I am curious if onyone has used this before? How are the profile fields handled in vBulletin and Drupal if this is installed? Does the user have the ability to modify their profiles seperately? Are the profiles fields some how integrated and updated together when a change is made in one profile? |
why do you ask here,. you already have a link to where to ask about these details?
|
I am asking here because I am using vBulletin and this is a vBulletin forum.
|
did you found an answer ?

No, I did not find an answer. The Drupal.org boards are not as well organized and not as active as vB.org so I haven't received a reply there. I am hoping that someone here has used this before and provide some feedback. |
brainfood,
I personally would use vBulletin for your custom pages. That way everything is in one database. |
I am also looking to do this. In fact I was thinking of writing a mod for drupal integration similar to what is done for wordpress.
How can I start this project? I am new to doing these mods but would think I could handle the coding aspect of it. These are my thoughts on where the project should go: 1) Integrated login ... Login on drupal logs you into vbulletin and vice versa - I think what needs to be done is to change the form on vbulletin to use drupals login mechanism. 2) Header - Use Drupal header to provide a consitant look and feel to the site 3) Sidebar - Use a sidebar from drupal for VBulletin. .... This all being said. Can someone help me get started. I promise I will do tons of work on this if someone can lead me in the right direction. So I have these questions to get started: 1) What do I need to do to start a mod? 2) Can someone discuss what steps need to be done to integrate drupal login with vbulletin? |
currently using this for my site www.bluepearl-design.com still doing alot of work.
Logins / registrations are shared, but profiles are currently different for vBulletin and Drupal. Once i have the design and content done im going to focus on using the vbulletin profiles only for the whole site. |
i like your site.
is this only the drupalvb version ? without extensions from you ? nice to hear from you and your work again. |
So far only Drupal VB, no modifications.
