Spam using many existing registered usernames
 

I always use reCapcha and have no problem with SPAM trying to register. The main problem that I am facing now is those SPAM trying bomb my site with tons of spam using many existing registered usernames.
I am using Akismet, but they have missed lots of spam.
Akismet is my last HOPE, but now it bypass it easily.
Do you have other solutions?

Are the existing user names using the same email domain?

I blocked .ru and .cn a long time ago.

There is generally no reason for those domains to be going to be forums.

How about moving inactive members into their own group and taking away their linking privileges?
