Contact Grabber - NEED YOUR OPINION
 

Hello,

Let's please use this thread to gauge the interest in a contact grabber mod AND whether someone is willing to build it for the community or if we will have to go the paid route AND if we have to go the paid route, if anyone is interested in sharing the costs of an experienced coder to get this done. I've already had a few coders contact me...one in particular that is already working on a mod like this as a side thing but will make it a priority if it's a paid job. I'll ask him to comment on this thread if he is still interested.

I am personally looking for what coder Hasann has done here https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthread.php?t=171951 already but also adding an external contact grabber for:

AOL/MSN/HOTMAIL/AIM/YAHOO/GMAIL/FACEBOOK/MYSPACE/TWITTER

I am also looking for this Invite system to work from the "email this page" button on a post/thread so one can email a thread to their friends by also grabbing their external contacts.

I already posted on Hasann's mod thread to see if he is willing to add this to his current mod but from what I have read on previous posts on his mod is that he is soon to come out with another version but not with the contact grabber...let's see if he answers to my post first though.

I also tried installing this contact grabber http://openinviter.com/ since it has a vb plugin but couldn't figure out how to make it work. It is open source so most of the code is here http://openinviter.com/documentation/index.html. It can be used/modified as needed.

Bottom line is that we would probably need the following:

1. Hasann to add this contact grabber feature to his mod "Invitation System VB Gold" *** Removed. Please do not offer payment or ask others for (partial) payment. Discussing payment is not allowed anywhere outside the Paid Requests forum. ***
2. A coder to add on to Hasann's 'Invitation System VB Gold' by either developing the contact grabber portion from scratch or getting 'Open Inviter' to work properly. I don't know much about coding but they could probably use the current open inviter code found here http://openinviter.com/documentation/index.html as it is open source and can be modified.

3. A Coder to build something from scratch that has what Hasann has already built more or less but with a contact grabber.

I have read time and time again that this is how many big sites have built their website memberships and how soon this feature will be a norm on most websites...AND...if you add FB connect to this (if/when they finally get the bugs fixed) what an amazing marketing tool...just my two cents.

You can get a decent one online for $29. search on google for contact importer.

hmmm to work easily for vbulletin for non experienced coders? Okay interesting because I have googled and couldn't find anything...let me go on a search again...thanks!
