What does tagging a mod do?

Kind if a dumb question but I wasn't here when the feature was added, and for the life of me I can't find a thread anywhere explaining it.

It basically just bookmarks the mod so you can find it easily. If you look on the usercp dropdown you'll see Tagged Modifications which list all the mods you have tagged.

It's for keeping modifications you haven't actually installed, but want to keep an eye on.
