change the ims in the profile
 

I want to be able to change the IMs listed in the profile, I fugured it should be fairly easy to do a simple search on "ICQ Number" and replace with "Twitter Name" but apparently not so easy.

Can someone tell me where this info is and how I might change it?

It is not that simple at all, I don't think. You also have to look at the templates - im_icq, im_send_icq and I think you will need to look at the code because each one of the IM types gets handled differently in the code. I think you'd be better off writing your own code to handle Twitter rather than rewrite some existing IM type to do it.

I suspected that it was more difficult - would be a good mod for anyone who is good at doing that

Just add a custom field for twitter
