2 questions...

1. How do I get my header to expand across the top of the page.
2. If I do this, can I also have ads displayed over the header?

the two questions are related to each other ,
yes you can make this

step #1 : get an easy-expanded header like this one

Step #2 : break into three slices

I made a table with background testbg.png "the repeated background"
with 3 cells
the first cell for the main Logo
second for the ads
third for the Slogan

thats all :)
