Help with making a seperate sponsor page.

I am looking for a way to display all of my sponsors on one page. I have the small "banners" on my index, but i also want to have a "sponsor" thread that shows all of the sponsors Large banners that are clickable links(i have the html code). If you understand what i am mumbleing about, and know how to do this please let me know as i am just trying to learn all of these new languages. thanks.

Are you talking about something like this?

guncanada 02-25-2009 02:08 AM

thanks for the fast reply, but not really. all i need is to be able to post html into a thread.
like say i click on "sponsors"
I want to see a list of banners of all of my sponsors in one post. Should be simple, but when i turn html "on" and post the code, instead of showing me the banner, it shows me the clickable code. ....wow...talk about marbles in my mouth...hehehe

If you are using a specific forum as a sponsor page, then why would you use htlm to achieve it?

Use what comes with your vbulletin, example:

https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/external/2009/02/3.gif
https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/external/2009/02/4.gif
https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/external/2009/02/5.gif

Each image is linked to random places here on vb,org. You can achive what you are trying to do the easy way...Good luck

lets say i add the banner of a sponsor to a post and want it to be a link to there site.

Then you would use both the IMG and URL bb code tags.

For instance:
Code:

[ URL =http://www.treadlightly.org ][ IMG ]http://www.vermontoutdoors.net/images/snowmobilebanner.gif[/ IMG ][/ URL ]
would look like:
https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/external/2009/02/2.gif

No HTML required.

i understand why it should work, but all i get is the exact text that I type in that is clickable. No banner picture.

Like if i copy the code that you just put up and paste it into a post, it should look like that banner??? i tried and i got this

[ URL =http://www.treadlightly.org ][ IMG ]http://www.vermontoutdoors.net/images/snowmobilebanner.gif[/ IMG ][/ URL ]

hmm..how do i make that code box come up...i think thats my problem
sorry, im just trying to learn this.
i apologize for my low iq...

I had to put spaces in the IMG and URL tags to keep them from displaying the banner within the code box. Take out the spaces in the tags. From the first [ to the last ] there should not be any spaces.

And the code box is done by putting the word 'code' in between brackets.

Ok, i got it....thank you for everyones help. It was way to easy for me to waste everyones time. Thanks again.

Yep. But you don't need the code tags on the page that you create. The reason I used the code box is to separate the sample code from the rest of my post. And the reason why you only see part of the banner within the code box is because the actual code is only one line. So the box is only big enough to display that one line. Although, vB converts that to a banner and it gets chopped.
