Nav Bar and Side Bar Help?

Hi, we're trying to fix up our site and we're currently having a few probs getting some things done. We want to add an additional Nav bar with a gradient. And also a side bar for the main page only. I photoshopped what we intend to do below

Thanks in advance!

search "navbar" in "all mods" "titles only" and you should find a mod to add an additional navbar. search "side*" in "all mods" "titles only" and you should find a mod to add an side column.

I found how to add the navbar. But I want it to be below the current navbar and spaced out as in the photoshop pic. Another problem is it underlines all the links using that class from the CSS. Do we would need to create a new class in the CSS for this.

If you want to give the second navbar a totally different style than the existing one, then I would suggest creating a new class. You can enter the css for it at the bottom of the Main CSS page.

As for positioning, usually the modification thread will tell how to put it in different places (at least the couple of second navbar mods I have seen have had options).

Ah. OK. Appreciated.

One more question. How would you copy the search dropdown from the top menu to the bottom? I'd like to add my own custom search, but the search box is just displaying on its own right now:

You'd need to edit the navbar; look for the popup code and either add another row to expand the existing search drop down or clone it with a different ID to create a second tab (a combined one looks better IMO).

The key being.... using a different id on the second search box! If you don't do that, you will have problems.

You shouldn't need to duplicate links, it doesn't look good (IMO).
