Admin CP > Maintenance > Diagnostics > Test Emails

Send an email through that interface, do you receive it or get any errors?

sendmail_from: None

The mailing function returned an error while trying to send the mail.
Check your mail server to ensure it is configured correctly to allow PHP to send mail from it. You should also check your mail server's error log for more diagnostic information.

Are you choosing SMTP to send emails? If so, make sure these details are correct, or just disable SMTP, and use PHP's built-in implementation (these options are found under "vBulletin Options > Email Options").

To be clear, when you set up SMTP in vBulletin, you use the same email access that you do for your regular pop email account on your ISP service or gmail. Make sure you have provided that information in the boxes in Email Options in vboptions, for example:

SMTP Email Yes

SMTP Host mail.yourdomain.com

SMTP Port 25

SMTP Username you@yourdomain.com

SMTP Password youpassword

Run the email test in diagnostics and you should get a test mail in your domain inbox.

port 25?

googlemail told me something like 463 or 500 something

You cant use googles mail service to send mail out from your forums, the smtp info is for your server.

Have you even checked the server email logs to see why you arent sending out emails normally?

Sorry, that's an incorrect statement...

Make sure you have entered the SMTP Host correctly, because the diagnostic shows that you entered localhost, which is definitely not Google. :p
