I'm not spamming, I promise :p

I was contacted by a marketing rep who wants to have a "sponsored thread" on one of my boards for crest whitestrips, and I wanted to know if anyone else has any experience with thread sponsorships and/or with this particular promotion.

That's the actual goal of direct advertising, letting companies pay per post...

Right, I understand that, and I've asked a ton of questions where it seems like this will just be a giveaway for having people respond on the thread with "good" comments.

My concern is whether this is really something to explore or if anyone has had any regrets doing these sorts of campaigns.

it all depend on your site's goal... your site is about Hippy Moms, it's not a market for direct sales... right now.

it's all up to you to decide if your members deserve to be harrassed with paid posts in their personal site...
