Web advertising- Question re "impressions" vs page views
 
Say you have a forum with 3,000,000 page views a month, and then you have a couple of banner ads on every page running continuously 24/7 rotating back and forth. The total impressions for both ads is 500,000 per month.

The question is, why aren't the total ad impressions 3 million ?

Surprising no one knows the answer to this.... or maybe it's too boring to talk about :o

Any suggestions on where to ask ?
