Import external IMG's as attachment
 

Hello!


I'm searching for a tool who import external photos and store it as an internal attachment.

E.g.:

Serarch for
Then import the pic as an attachment, get the ID (e.g. 1234) and replace the code above as
Does anyone know a mod who do this?

i use the old photobucket plugin from 3.6 works great for 3.8
and im running it on my site atm, dont like imagashack thingy.

but there is a few mods out there that does this, but they dont make use
of the attachment system unless you actually upload the file to the server
which is proberly what your trying to prevent right ?

I recommend using that, theres also another similar mod just not happy about it.

I want this as well, and like Reatime, I too want the files to be uploaded to my server.

if you want the files uploaded on your server, then this is a default feature!
depending on vb version ofcourse. but attachment ID's are default.

only reason i dont anymore, cause i disabled uploading content

was tired of injections and hostile file uploads.

and im quite sure, what he is asking is the abilitiy to add img links to the attachment
thingy. ;)

You are right, NEW photos would be uploaded ... but if I disable the IMG-Tag, there are no photos shown.

I think, the best way is a two-step one:
1.: Upload all the attachments in an forumfolder
2.: Anly allow the forum-domain for attachments

well we all have the Table_predfix attachment database
and im sure the way to utilize the attachment feature in the postbit
it by populatin the database with data/links

but each user would have to know "his" current attachment id's for this to work.

Edit, just testet, all can acces the attachments while active,
just did with the picture i attached here, i just changed the ID
to a few numbers lower, and all sorts of other attachements came up.

I'd like to do this as well.

we want to switch from phpBB to vB and all the img-hoster delete their pictures after a while.

To prevent data- and informationloss, we want to transfer these pictures to the board as an attachement.

Is there a possibility to do so?

It imports external images and turns them into local images, but does not use the attachment system.
