How long did it take you to learn vbulletin?

How long did it take you to learn vbulletin? To feel comfortable with it? I'm getting some of it but it seems like there is so much some still to learn. Gets very disheartening after a while. I'm burning big time. I really wish vb woud consider making audio/visual instuctions instead of having to read through all the literature or at last in addition to and good quality.

Thanks

Gabby

I am still learning. You should visit Floris his site. He has got some nice vids for you. http://www.vbulletin-tutorials.com/

There's some good tutorials on yourtube. What specific areas are you having trouble in? The movies floris has posted (are your basic guides) for the very simplistic of tasks which I'm sure you know how to do already (Absolutely love the dutch accent). Which areas are you finding it difficult to understand?

took me about 10 days to be comfy with... 20 days before i release my first of 100 hacks... i was kinda quick, i had a lot of PHP/MySQL projects in hands before going on vbulletin... by a long run, i had to suffer phpBB and IPB before that...oh and i forgot, i created Postnuke, so imagine the suffering; i was managing a big project even if i hated the code of it.. lol

1 year I guess.

I'm still learning things which is why I help here (you learn a lot when you help others). But, I'd say that within a month or so of using it, I felt like I had a pretty good idea of what I was doing - at least enough to go live with it. I'm always learning little new things that make me go back and recode some mods I've written.

whats vBulletin?

It took me about one week for the basic controls but I had been working with other forums for a while so it was just a matter of getting used to the upgraded body and engine. For beginning to do manual template additions it took another couple of weeks. I haven't learned how to theme or code mods or anything but I can get around pretty well and adjust pretty much anything I need. About two months though to really feel comfortable with it all.

I have been using VB for almost 2 years and I am still learning how to use some of the features.
