Cannot view member profiles nor multiple pages

Right, so... I submitted a support ticket to the vB.com staff, and have yet to hear anything. In addition, I made a thread on their forum for their locals, and have found nothing.

So, I am coming here. =D

Basically, on my forum, somehow the profiles were "disabled". When you click on someone's name, it comes up with an error that reads:

Quote:

This user has not registered and therefore does not have a profile to view.
In addition, when I click on, say, page 5 of a thread, it just reloads page one.

Does any one have any ideas on how to fix this? It's driving me nuts, and I don't know what to do. :o :(

Thanks in advance!

A link to an example always helps. (Clicking on profiles on the site in your profile shows them to work just fine.)

Here is an example of what's going on:

http://www.rpanime.com/forums/member.php?u=2860

I mean as in my forum. When anyone clicks on a member's username, it shows that. :(

All I see if a no permission sign for the member page. If that's not what you mean, then you need to provide a test username/password to logon with.

Here is a test account:

User: Test37
Pass: abcdef

Hmm, how would I go about editing the permission for the member page? :o

To troubleshoot this, please remove any hacks and disable your plugins, then see if you still have this problem.
Note: To temporarily disable the plugin system, edit config.php and add this line right under <?php

define('DISABLE_HOOKS', true);

If so, reupload all the original vB non-image files (except install.php). Make sure you upload these in ASCII format and overwrite the ones on the server.

If your problem still exists, please create a new Style with no Parent set. Now browse the forum using this new style, do you still have the same problems? If you are troubleshooting login or guest issues, you will need to set this style as board default in the vBulletin Options.

Lynne 02-04-2009 03:12 PM

Do as Marco suggested. I'd probably first try the new default style and see if you can see things using that. Then I'd try disabling your plugins and using the new default style and seeing if that fixes things.

Hmm, I disabled the plugins through the config file, and it worked perfectly fine. But, when I added the new skin, and enabled the plugins again, it was doing the exact same thing. Is there a way to see the dates of when certain plugins were added? I ask because my forum has a lot of plugins (on it's third year in it's lifecycle right now).

Thank you for all of the help thus far. I really appreciate it.

Edit -- I have found which plugin it was. And, unfortunately, it was a plugin that also displays the latest posts on the forum. So, now that I have lost it, I am interested in replacing it with a similar plugin.

While on the subject, you know of any good plugins that do this that are compatible with vB 3.8?

Lynne 02-05-2009 02:58 PM

I'd just go do a search in the 3.8 section. I don't use a mod from here for that, so I can't suggest one.

I have to bump this :(

A user just brought something to my attention. Well, viewing profiles works, but no one can post any visitor messages to anyone.

This is the error I get:

Quote:

The following errors occurred with your submission
No User specified. If you followed a valid link, please notify the administrator
I disabled all plugins again, and it works just fine. Well, I've come to the conclusion that I just need to uninstall as many plugins as needed. But, is there a way around it? A lot of the plugins I have installed are widely used on the forum...
