Those are spiders. The first is from yahoo, the second is from google.

So is a spider good or Bad

Jeez i can do without this

so what is a spider a bot that trawls your website

and gathers info ?
Confused

If you want to be listed in yahoo search or google search, the a yahoo spider or googlebot needs to crawl your site and see what you have. however, it looks like you have your threads set to not be viewable by unregistered guests (which is what a spider is). You could create a robots.txt file to tell them not to crawl (google it).

web spiders are google, yahoo, msn engines that take the keywords of your pages to index them into the database where you search when you go on google, yahoo and msn... they are harmless, as they can not access pages you block from guests.

it's good for people who are searching for a site like yours.

Most spiders are good news. They index you to their search engines.

/me need to code a "merge these posts" product...

UncoderMom 02-03-2009 03:23 PM

Baf_Jams 02-03-2009 03:25 PM

I only set permissions to registered guests because of this
I dont mind google or yahoo looking
Just was confused and worried as we not long been hacked 24hrs ago

Thanks for the info

I will try my best to give you any info on them as it looks like some people actually like them and use them
