How to remove notifications?

I want to do it so it displays:

Welcome, Saurav.
You last visited: Today at 08:16 PM
Private Messages: Unread 0, Total 3330.

instead of:

Welcome, Saurav.
You last visited: Today at 08:16 PM
You currently have 2 notifications

for all new users.

Is that possible?

Hi Saurav,

You can remove this code from the navbar template:

Didnt work. That just displays
