Merging thread question

I'd like to have a new post become the first post in a thread that's already been established, but I don't want the thread to continue to list he newest posts first. In other words, I want all the subsequent posts to continue the way they have been. How can I do that?

I don't understand what you're trying to do. However, posts are ordered in chronological order, and this cannot be changed unless you modify the files themselves.
