upgrade to 381 with existing mods

Besides doing a full back up, what is the best way to upgrade to 381 with existing mods?

Need to uninstall and then reinstall each mod?

Redo all the template edits again?

Perform the upgrade on a test site, correct all the templates there and export the style so you can import it onto your live site after the upgrade. Also, test all modifications and see which ones need to be upgraded. Many will work just fine on 3.8.
