Weird IPv6 IP showing

A bunch of our users got this weird ::ffff:85.25.15 IPv6 showing in their IP log. What is this?

Well i can tell you what half of it is, IPv6 is short for "Internet Protocol Version 6". IPv6 is the "next generation" protocol designed by the IETF to replace the current version Internet Protocol, IP Version 4 ("IPv4").

Looking into it a bit more and i'm getting results for spyware with this part ::ffff:85.25.15 ???

To be on the safe side just double check that you have no malware on your PC, a Free program to do and repair this is Malwarebytes, you can download it here. http://www.download.com/Malwarebytes...=dl&tag=button

If this ::ffff:85.25.15 was a genuine part of your internet connection at server point then your missing the last two digits

It's actually very rare to see people using IPv6, as not many sites at all have IPv6 setup, and even less ISPs have setup IPv6 for their clients.

How did your users log the IPs? Is there any specific reason why they are going to you?
