Making horizontal navigational menus

I want to insert IMG buttons with links to serve a navigational horizontal menu in between this area, however I go the images for the buttons, I just dont know how to code it or where to modify it on my code area.

Open the navbar template and at the very top try

I just had one question for people, if I were to make a button that says 'REGISTER'

Such as that, how can I make the link only display to people not logged on / guests?
